NCCA Meeting Minutes

Welcome

Attendees: Irene, Carmen, Carl, Tony, Christine, Karen, Micki McMillan-Blacker (presenter), Margie, Sue R, Lloyd, Diane, Pat, Julie, Bob, MaryKay, Joel, Leah, Sue T

• Planning circle meetings are 2nd Thursday of each month, open to everyone
• Selection of activities comes from the energy of NCCA members, please express your interest and get involved!

Summer Coaching League "Banquet" and Awards - Irene and Karen

• Awards were presented for contribution to the Summer of Coaching League:
  • Terry Fenn - Green Jacket award
  • Bob Medlock - Cy Youngster award
  • Carl Dierschow - Designated Hitter award
  • Margie Mulligan - Rookie of the Year award
  • Pat Williams - Closest to the Pin award
  • Martha Conant - MVP award
  • MaryKay Johnston - Best Sport award
  • Terry Anna - Longest Drive award

NCCA Membership fee - Irene

• We would like to institute a $25 yearly membership fee, to support activities and programs
• We would like to do a membership survey to find out what kinds of activities people would like this group to do
• Voting is majority rule of members present
• The large majority of today's attending members voted YES

President/VP Roles and Responsibilities - Irene & MaryKay

• Irene and MaryKay decided to shift some of the responsibilities in order to account for their interests and skills
• Description of new roles is attached to this newsletter
• Carl will update the website
• It hasn't been decided whether this is a permanent change or just for this term.

Fall Event "Vision for Coaching" - Christine & Lynne

• All NCCA members are invited to an evening at Lynne's house

• The focus will be visioning for NCCA, how do we want to impact coaching
• Please RSVP to Lynne at whirldpeaz@attbi.com if you want to be there

Upcoming Meetings - MaryKay

• List of meetings is on the website
• We would really appreciate having people volunteer to facilitate
• December's meeting is on a Friday, replacing the regular Thursday meetings which won't happen in November and December
• We will be planning the International Coaching Week activities at the November planning meeting (2nd week in November)
• We expect to do the Taste Of Coaching, as that was quite successful last year

Upcoming Activities Update/Survey - Irene

• Irene passed out a sheet of planned activities - comments and suggestions are invited!
• Activities list is attached to this newsletter.
• We would like to beef up our emphasis on contributing to the cutting edge of coaching this year:
  • Visioning exercise
  • Getting involved in the state's discussions about licensing coaching
  • Being involved with the ICF, conferences, leader calls
• Irene will send out an activities survey to poll people on their interests and ideas, probably after the visioning exercise

  • Request for funding on study of the Efficacy of Life Coaching
  • 3 year study, assessments, quite extensive
• Pat's book is being translated to Russian and he is going there in December

ICF Update

• Pat is on an ICF conference call on Therapy and Coaching
• Irene needs a roommate for this year's ICF conference
• Next year's ICF conference is in Denver!
