Attending
-
Bobbie, Christine, Joan, Ann Clarke, Carmen, Carl, Dianne, John,
Irene, Sue, Ann
Check-in
What did you do or experience this summer that helped you grow?
-
Carl: I’ve been working on my book – it’s going to be published
imminently. Growth: I’ve learned so much about publishing, writing and
marketing! Check out
www.dierschow.com
-
Dainne: I went to the Evidence Based Coaching conference in
Australia. Growth: It was fun to be a “big wig”! I also met my goal to
complete my first 100 mile bicycle ride!
-
Irene: I’ve been playing a lot of golf in the EWGA and will play
in the Nationals. I’ve been working on the Coaching Research Symposium, it’s
really going. 26 submissions for papers, doubled the number of speakers, 35
people registered already. The meeting is the day before the ICF conference.
$99 includes printed proceedings. She will give a $30 discount to anyone who
volunteers to help
-
John: I finished my CTI training in June and have been
developing community. I’ve been an organizer for NoCoNet. 130 members, about
one person a week getting a job. It’s personally rewarding to see my ideas on
organization and meetings can help make the group more alive and enjoyable.
We got a writeup in the paper and the Business Report this month.
-
Christine: I’ve taken on a facilitation role with the Colorado
Coalition of Coaches, the group to impact legislation around Therapy and
Coaching. The group is now moving quickly. I’ve learned a lot about leading
and facilitating. My client list is growing rapidly which has pushed me to a
whole new level.
-
Joan: I had a problem with my publisher who wanted to throw all
the illustrations out of my book, it hurt my ego. I decided to handle it by
creating a website with meditations around each illustration. The growth for
me was to stop letting my ego drive things and learned a lot.
-
Bobbie: I had a whole lot of stop, look and listen experiences
this summer. I’ve been reading a lot, started a new women’s group, and have
reflected and absorbed this summer, resulting in a burst of energy. A lot of
internal growth this year.
-
Carmen: I decided to get darker and hung out at the pool. I
broke away from a lot of organizations, reflected, and focused on what’s
really important to me. I joined Business Network International and it helped
to create some energy. I did a paid workshop for them. Coaching now is no
longer a hobby for me.
ICF Conference - Christine
-
We had our brainstorming session about how we could contribute
to the conference.
-
The Boulder and Denver chapters were excited about the ideas and
wanted to do ALL of them(!)
-
We need to gauge level of involvement of NCCA people, what are
we willing to commit
-
The intention is to do volunteer activities outside the normal
presentation times
-
Irene and Dianne are heavily involved in their existing
activities and will be there and help
-
Christine passed out a list and will send out an e-mail for the
people who weren’t at today’s meeting
-
We could need money for: Welcome center, oxygen bar, water,
etc. Maybe we could ask for donations in some areas? We can ask Boulder and
Denver to contribute more proportionately based on the size of the groups.
-
Christine will talk to Martha and have the leadership circle
decide how much we want to use for these activities.
-
We need:
-
Chair for greeting committee
-
Chair for welcome ambassador committee
-
Chair for call center (if we do that)
-
Chair for Colorado Coaches booth
-
Volunteers to help Margaret with conference planning
-
Volunteers for many other areas
Legislation - Christine
-
The Colorado Coalition of Coaches is working on a plan, to try
to make coaches exempt from the laws governing therapy
-
This is going to be a very major deal, we need to hire a
lobbyist - $25,000+
-
Perhaps we’ll get some help from Thomas Leonard’s estate
-
We need a Tax ID number to use to make this happen, Christine
would like to use the NCCA Tax ID
-
In the meeting we voted to let them use our number, Christine
will oversee to make sure there’s no issues that arise
-
There may be a request coming out soon to ask for donations, not
tax deductible
-
Christine will see how our group’s legal status might affect
this
Maggie Carter’s Seminar
-
Maggie is doing a seminar and we agreed to let her send one
e-mail message through Carl to the distribution list
-
The leadership circle can create any kind of policy about how
much e-mail we send out to people on our distribution list – Carl will draft
this
Coaching Effectiveness Study through Regis
-
Dianne needs PCC/MCC level coaches who would volunteer to
participate in the study. It’s not a big time commitment.
