the bank statements
August program
-
John made contact with JJ, of the Northern Colorado Economic
Development Council –
www.ncedc.com
- They’re a non-profit, trying to encourage new companies to move to
the area
- He will talk about marketing – what he’s seeing in the area of new
business development, how we can hook up to offer services to these new
companies
- More information is on their website, look at the latest
newsletter
- What do they do before the company comes (to attract them) and
after (to support them and help them grow)
-
Pat will be the highlighted “focus on the coach”
-
Joan will do the fun activity – describe our coaching services in
terms of an animal
Future programs
- September - John - using Toastmasters techniques
October and beyond
- Some people (John, Lynne, Jeff) focus on specific issue areas for
clients - we could ask them to talk about how they do this, how it works
with their marketing, whether they stick to that issue area, how much of it
ends up being education. Possible questions:
- What's your approach?
- How do you use it in your marketing?
- What's the value it brings to your client?
- How does it affect your coach approach?
- The particular challenges with that kind of approach
- Tapping into passions
- Motivational-type speaker
- Mandy's example of relating kayaking to overcoming fears
- Closing the gap between work and passion
- To what extent is the passion just a daydream?
- Example: Artist who feels tied up in the day-to-day assignments and
can't get the juices flowing for the passionate project
- We'll mention this in the August meeting and
- November meeting
- We'll check to see if people would like to have a November meeting,
probably on the 18th.
- We could do the "tapping into passions" at that meeting or perhaps in
January
- December party
- We'll propose the afternoon of Saturday December 11th at Joan's house in
Redstone canyon.
- Joan would like to do it if people don't think it's too far out of town
or the autumn travel might be a problem.
Meeting location
- People were expressing that Country Buffet can get a little noisy
- Chilson center near downtown Loveland?
- A restaurant out on US34?
- The Chop House on 4th Street in Loveland? What's the price?
- Mulligan's - Harmony between Lemay and Timberline
- Sue will check these out
BCA meeting
- BCA is bringing in Julio Olalla on December 16th and would like us to
help out. Sue is getting more details.
- Sue was trying to find out how BCA engaged with University of Phoenix.
- Several coaches had a table and gave out flyers on coaching services
and got zero response
- Their information didn't get put in the graduation information
packet
- There's some sensitivity to UofP and CSU about not wanting to
promote companies who are trying to make money - they want to be seen as
fair and even-handed, not promoting a particular company or service
ICF Web logging teleconference
- Sue went to this teleconference
- Blogging is a website with constantly updated information on a
particular topic, with ways that people can comment and link to it
- This helps to get your website more visible on search engines
Membership list
- Carl and Mandy worked through the list of current/past/possible members
- Carl sent out e-mails to everybody who needs to get current with NCCA
and/or ICF, or to answer some questions
