NCCA Planning Meeting Notes
11 February 2005
Attendees
ICF changes
- Sue will start off discussion on this topic by presenting the matrix
that was developed. This will provide a baseline for the discussion
- Gloria Willis suggested that disassociation could actually help us get
more members, by opening up to more coaches in the area who don't want to be
a part of the ICF
- Sue will contact Lucinda to get a historical perspective
New officers
- We should have new officers in May
- What would happen if Pat was a leader? Would want to know he would
be a strong hands-on leader...
- The coming changes may be perceived as threatening, but also it's a huge
opportunity to design the future of coaching in the region
- We may want a person to focus on credentialing - ICF and otherwise.
Someone who knows the rules and regulations, and can help coach us on how to
make the decisions around getting credentialed.
- Sue is concerned about sustainability, how hard it's been to keep the
momentum going. Maybe we need to have a conversation about what the
group wants to become?
- Have a focused meeting
- Enlist people one-on-one
- "This may be the most important meeting we have ever had"
- We could invite non-members into the discussion too
- We seem to have meetings like this every year, what makes this
different? It's focused on a specific decision
- Having people take over leadership is hard, perhaps we should include
funding the president going to the ICF (or other) conference
- How to reach people?
- One-on-one calls with NCCA members
- Each person is asked to contact any non-NCCA members
- Advertise in paper and on radio?
- Tentative date: 28 April, 6:00 dinner, 7:00-10:00 meeting?
