Attendees
ICF News
- The ICF updated the code of ethics
- Their also doing a round of teleconferences about the certification
process
- We need to notify members of these
March membership meeting
- Dianne is signed up to talk about research - 60 minutes
- ICF: Ethics, credentialling
- Future of the NCCA: the agenda of the April discussion?
- Focus on the coach: Sue: 20 minutes
- Check-in + fun activity: 20 minutes - Sue to see if Joan can combine
April membership meeting
- Sue: Some people in the group think we're worrying about this too much?
But personally I view this as a matter of integrity.
- Carl: I'd rather do the April meeting, it gives us time to think,
change, incorporate, and do the right thing for us.
- John: An earlier decision means we're more intentional. Whatever
we do means our group will change.
- Mandy: I would like to take action, it's part of knowing who we are and
going that direction. Perhaps our group's lack of energy stems from not
knowing who we are. If people don't want to be involved in the
discussion, that's still input.
- Sue: Consensus then that we should do this
- Date: 21 April, 6:00 potluck dinner, 7:00 start discussion
- Focus: The ICF affiliation issue and the future role of the NCCA
- Would be good to get to a recommendation that we can put out to a vote
by the membership, need 2/3 vote (of our 19 members) to change the bylaws
- Mandy: I have a question about what it means for officers or members to
be "working toward becoming credentialed." Sue: So far it's up to
chapters to interpret and police this, there's no concrete rules from the
ICF. I'll look to see if there's some kind of time limit on how
quickly ICF members need to get their credential.
- Objectives: Whether to keep NCCA affiliated with ICF, and the mission
and makeup of the NCCA.
- It would be nice to know the impact of the ICF affiliation decision: how
many people would we gain, how many would we lose.
- Carl: The deep objective is for the NCCA to yield value to its members.
- How can we make this stronger than when we've asked this question every
other year?
- John: Or what would happen if "sustainability" meant becoming a daughter
organization to the DCF or something? That would change the issue a
bit. There's different models possible.
- This is not just focusing our energies for the next year, it's going
back to the fundamental mission and makeup of the group.
- John: First decision is to retain ICF affiliation and abide by the new
rules. Second decision is figure out who we will become as a result of
the first decision.
- Carl: We've decided that this is the right time to start the process.
We may not be able to make the decision quite yet, but we need to get the
process going. We know that the ICF isn't going to change their mind.
- Getting this announced and attendance up:
- Need to clarify the objective
- Personalized message to every person we have an e-mail address for,
signed by all the officers
- Advertising?
- Word-of-mouth is critical
- Call to action at our March meeting
- Red Cross building is probably the best, Sue will see if they would
let us meet in the evening and that day
Next planning meeting

- FRIDAY 8 APRIL, 12:00-2:00
- GOLDEN CORRAL
