NCCA Planning Meeting
8 April 2005
New Officer Potentials
- Joan and Sue connected with Jeff - interested in contributing somehow
but not necessarily an officer role
- Joan will contact Carmen
- Sue observed that there's a lot of professional groups in Northern
Colorado that haven't lived for too many years - maybe a matter of critical
mass?
- Susan G
- The local ASTD seems to have a lot of energy right now
- There's groups which naturally expire when it's not possible to find a
strong, motivated leader
Future of the NCCA
- The DCF has SIG meetings and then a formal meeting - not so much
emphasis on networking. The new president has more energy around the
ICF members, and a minority of members are ICF members. They'll be
discussing it in May.
- The BCA is fairly disconnected from the ICF changes, about 20% of the
members are ICF members
- Process:
- Setting the ground rules
- Reminder of need for new officers
- Describing the fork in the road, what it means to stay affiliated
with the ICF
- Purposes for a professional organization
- Check-in: What draws you to this organization, and what do you want
to see in the future?
- Highlight the difference between the Back Porch Gang approach and
ICF chapter approach
- Discussion: Pros and Cons of staying affiliated with the ICF
- Drive towards possible decision
- Proposal on what we will/might do with the money in our bank account
- Identification of new leadership role(s)
- ACTION: Carl to see if we can find out exactly what the requirement is
for ICF members to be working toward their credentials
- ACTION: Sue to bring the list of ICF chapter requirements to the meeting
- Next steps after 21 April meeting
- Clear decision by the NCCA leaders on the redirection/termination of
the NCCA
- Decision on what to do with the money in our bank account
- Possible vote by the membership (if we're rewriting the charter)
- Possible rewriting of charter or writing of new one
- First membership meeting in the new form
